At the Kiosk, your provider is able to use these peripheral devices to check blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen level, weight, temperature, and heart & lung sounds.
Yes - If you live in a community/facility (independent living or assisted living) our lab partner will come directly to you. For all other patients, the provider can order home health or send the lab order to a lab facility convenient to you.
Readings are reviewed and triaged daily by TeleMate Health nurses. These readings are
also used by the patients’ providers to make medical judgments such as changing of medications,
diet, or anything that falls under the realm of the patients’ care.
No, a TeleMate Health nurse will contact the patients as needed. However, if a patient would
like to speak to their remote nurse, they are available anytime during normal business hours.
Patients can call their personal TeleMate Health nurse Monday-Friday, or they can push the
“Nurse Call” button. The provided device then announces that the nurse has been notified
and will call the patient as soon as possible.
No, the device is what sends the vital sign readings directly to the TeleMate Health
nurse and is preprogrammed to only scan for the readings of the devices included in the
patient’s kit. It does not and cannot record anything you say. It will only speak at the
beginning and end of each reading. At the end of each reading, the patient’s vital sign is announced.
This announcement is also confirmation that their reading has been received.
We prefer for patients to take a reading at least once a day. For insurance to cover the
service, we ask that patients test a minimum of 5 days a week or the equipment will need to be
returned to TeleMate Health.
